The Linen Tea TowelThe linen tea towel is an heirloom from my grandmother. She has embroidered it with her maiden name initials so it is at least 80 years old. I love the fact that it is of such good quality that it has lasted in daily use for all this time. It is a functional, everyday thing but also one that carries a story. I think of my grandmother embroidering it in the 1930ies. Could she possibly have imagined that it would still be used in 2020 - a number that must have felt very futuristic to her. In our work, we also try to create objects that will last - time travellers that will dwell in homes in 2100.
